When is cosmetic dentistry considered? At Empordà Odontòlegs, cosmetic dentistry is a cornerstone of all forms of treatments. In any case, there is a form of treatment that is specific to Cosmetic Dentistry:
Crowns: Crowns are ceramic or metal-ceramic that are used to cover a tooth that is severely damaged or alternatively place it on an implant and give it the desired functionality. Dental crowns are always permanent.
Inlays: Inlays are resin or ceramic covers placed on back teeth to rebuild them when they have lost a lot of structure. This treatment is more conservative than a crown because it maintains as much as possible of the healthy structure of the affected tooth.
Dental veneers: These are thin slices of a composite or ceramic placed on the visible side of front teeth after being slightly pared back. Dental veneers make it possible to correct crowded teeth or alternatively teeth that are separated. Also rotten, misshaped or stained teeth, making little changes to the remaining dental structure.
Fillings: at Empordà Odontòlegs, we use high-quality composites(resins) to rebuild teeth that are fractured, have affected root canals or have cavities, thereby offering the best aesthetic results over the long-term. Moreover, in those cases in which dental aesthetics are more important, as say with the front teeth, we have a wide range of different coloured aesthetic composites so that the rebuilding mimics the enamel and thereby obtains the most natural outcome.
Teeth whitening: whitening makes it possible to brighten teeth by means of a gel.
